HOW THE NAMES OF JESUS REVEAL GOD’S CHARACTER

We live in a time where the month of January is seen as a reset. Maybe you need a fresh start. Or perhaps you need a reminder to keep going when things seem challenging.

Whatever surprises await us this year, our prayer life will be tested. We will either grow in our understanding of the ‘one we call on’ or we will slowly find ourselves unsure about God’s love for us. For that reason, we want to begin this year thinking about prayer and the foundational ways the Bible invites us to explore the names of Jesus and what they reveal about God’s character.

Private connection with God is a popular feature of our culture. So much so that we can forget how radical it would have sounded to hear Jesus say ‘…Whoever has seen me has seen the Father...” John 14:9

May this new year be the one where we cultivate a deeper prayer life and may we be awakened and respond to being baptized in the name of God, the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
